Program Coordinator, Restorative Justice (RJ) Lab; Politics, Justice, Law, & Philosophy

The University of North Alabama is accepting applications for the position of Program Coordinator for the Restorative Justice (RJ) Lab.  This position is responsible for supervising and coordinating the duties of the Restorative Justice Lab including project management, project implementation, meeting facilitation, data reporting, grant writing, grant reporting, and budget reporting. The person in this position will also communicate and coordinate with stakeholders at the university, Limestone Correctional Facility, and grant funders. 

The Restorative Justice Lab is a collaborative and interdisciplinary hub for rethinking justice through community-building, mutual aid, and restorative practices that prevent, reduce, and transform harm. Our work is generated from and around prisons in Alabama.

This is a 2-year grant funded position under the RJ Lab’s Identifying and Scaling Programmatic Technical Assistance Resources in Higher Education in Prison grant award. Under this grant award, the RJ Lab will develop a series of toolkits on community-building for other higher education in prison programs. In addition to supervising the RJ Lab’s duties, the program coordinator will ensure that progress is made toward these deliverables.
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree is required; Willingness and ability to visit the prison as requested, required; Experience with program coordination, academic support services, or student services in an educational setting is preferred; Experience working with grants is preferred; Experience in an administrative role involving project planning, execution, and budgeting is preferred; Familiarity with data collection, management, and reporting is preferred; and applicants with experience in visual arts are strongly preferred.
