September 2, 2025 — LONG-LEWIS™ Automotive Group proudly celebrates 110 years of service as Alabama’s very first automotive franchise. To mark this historic milestone, LONG-LEWIS™ is donating $110,000 to 10 local charities across the state. As Alabama’s oldest automotive group, LONG-LEWIS™ continues its long-standing commitment to the areas it serves, proving once again that “In the long run, it’s Long-Lewis.”
A Legacy of Growth and Excellence
Founded in 1887 by William J. Long, the company entered the automotive industry in 1915 when Henry Ford awarded one of the state’s first Ford franchises. From those early days in Bessemer to today, LONG-LEWIS™ has grown into Alabama’s largest automotive retailer, now operating multiple Ford, Lincoln, Chevrolet, Volkswagen, and Mitsubishi dealerships, as well as a Pre-Owned Super Center. The group retails approximately 1,500 vehicles each month—11 times the size of the average dealership in the state.
Recognized nationally for customer satisfaction, LONG-LEWIS™ has earned more Ford President’s Awards than any other dealer in the nation, a reflection of its honesty, integrity, and no-nonsense approach to business.
Giving Back to the Community
To celebrate, LONG-LEWIS™ is giving Alabama residents the chance to make a difference. Community members can nominate their favorite charities by visiting the webform: www.longlewsifoundation.org/givingback/ and the 10 organizations with the most nominations will share $110,000 in donations—honoring the communities that have supported them for more than a century. Updates throughout the process will be posted on LONG-LEWIS™’s Facebook pages, allowing the community to follow along and see the impact of their nominations.
“Our 110-year anniversary is not just about our history—it’s about celebrating the communities that have supported us along the way,” said Todd Ouellette, owner. “We’re thrilled to give back to local charities and involve our valued customers and friends in choosing which organizations will benefit.”
Looking Ahead
With 110 years behind them and a clear vision for the future, LONG-LEWIS™ remains deeply committed to their founding principles of integrity, innovation, and community service—poised to continue their legacy of excellence in Alabama and beyond.
